Feeling bored quarantined at home? We have just the right movies for you to binge watch . Not only will these travel movies introduce you to different locations around the world, but will also teach you a lesson or two about life.

Here’s our list:

The Motorcycle Diaries

The movie is about Ernesto Guevara, a young student in his early twenties who takes a break from his studies in order to travel Latin America on his motorcycle. However, the plot is not as simple as it seems – because this biopic is about the very man who became known as Che Guevara a few years later. Yes, this is a movie about the inspiring Marxist guerrilla leader who was the face  of one of the biggest revolutions in the world.

The question is, what made Ernesto – a simple traveller – evolve into Che? Well, watch the movie to find out!

Into The Wild

Based on a book, this biopic flick is about Christopher McCandless, a man who hiked from North America to the Alaskan wilderness. Here’s the interesting part: he did this even though he was a top student and athlete. However, instead of falling into the clutches of modern life, he gave away all his money and went off to explore the wild.

Though the movie is set in the 1990’s, Christopher’s journey is one that inspires people even today. Plus, the shots of the forest are beautiful and will leave you in awe.

Midnight in Paris

The fantasy comedy revolves around a Hollywood screenwriter (Gil Pender) who is vacationing in Paris with his materialistic fiancée. Even though Gil is rich, there is still something amiss from his soul – and it’s this very lack of fulfillment in his life that is addressed in this movie.

Apparently, as the clock strikes 12 at midnight, Gil is transported to the 1920’s. What does the blast from the past teach him? Well, we certainly don’t want to ruin the ending for you!

Wild

Based on the biographical adventure of Cheryl Strayed, ‘Wild’ is a heartbreaking journey of a woman who is set out to find peace after the death of her mother. Many people suggest travelling as a way to heal the soul – an advice taken seriously by Cheryl, who sets out on a hiking journey that was discussed by people for years to comeWill the wilderness change her or will it further throw her into the darkness?

The Beach

Richard, played by Leonardo Di Caprio, travels to Thailand and ends up finding a map that is said to lead the travellers to a heavenly beach. Upon reaching the ‘paradise’, Richard decides to stay with a group of people who have formed a small village there. Like him, those individuals were seeking a connection with nature too.

However, the dream of the beautiful beach soon turns into a nightmare. Watch this film to find out how urbanisation is damaging the way people connect with each other.

The Bucket List

Are there cities you always wished to visit and adventures you wanted to embark on but couldn’t? This is exactly what life was for Carter Chambers and Edward Cole before they were diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. However, once the two men find out their life is ending, they decide to go on a road trip and do everything that is on their bucket list.

Motivating and emotional, this movie will and you realise how important it is to do all that the heart wants before it’s too late.
